House models for Mondo Kaos - Inspiration and Fashion Joy for Everyone
At Mondo Kaos, our goal is to show how clothes can bring joy and confidence to all women. Our collections, ranging from true vintage to modern retro twists, come to life on our house models who represent a wide spectrum of shapes and personalities. We are proud of our house models Mille and Tine - a mother and daughter duo who inspire and bring their own charm to our clothes. Here they tell us a little about their everyday lives, their relationship with fashion and how they became part of the Mondo Kaos universe.
Mille and Tine's World: A Joy for Fashion and Family
Mille is a happy-go-lucky 37-year-old pharmaconomist living in North Zealand with her husband and three children. In her spare time, she is a dance teacher at the local sports hall for happy dancing girls. She has a passion for vintage and retro style that has followed her since childhood. Her daily life is filled with creative projects, from family parties to dance classes, and her clothing style reflects her love of the classic, often with a colorful or feminine touch.
Tine, 60, works as a social and healthcare assistant and lives in Blistrup with her husband. She loves spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoys the area's scenic beaches and forests. With her colorful and personal style, where red lips and colorful clothes are an integral part, she brings life and energy to the people she meets. Tine is inspired by art, travel and nature, and loves to express herself through her unique and colorful wardrobe.
First encounter with Mondo Kaos and the excitement of Vintage Fashion
Mille discovered Mondo Kaos about 12 years ago when a friend recommended the store and it has been a favorite ever since. For Tine, it was Mille who opened her eyes to the Mondo Kaos universe and she quickly found that the clothes fit her style and wardrobe perfectly. Combined with Tine's own sense of color and Mille's love of vintage details, they have both managed to create personal looks that combine the elegance of the past with the comfort of today.
Being House Models - A Sense of Community and Fashion Happiness
Since becoming house models earlier this year, Mille and Tine have experienced the joy of trying on Mondo Kaos collections and becoming part of the brand's community.
Mille says: "It's a huge honor to be able to try on so many beautiful clothes and styles in a wonderful environment like Mondo Kaos, you always feel safe and in the best hands for photo shoots. And I've met a lot of wonderful women who inspire me, which is an added plus."
Tine adds about her first experience as a house model: "With butterflies in my stomach, I was welcomed by the most beautiful women who quickly put the butterflies to rest. I feel so welcome at Mondo Kaos. I leave with energy and good, fun conversations in my "backpack".
Working as mother and daughter gives them both a special experience where fashion becomes a shared passion and a bond that strengthens their relationship. Mille says: "I think it's so nice and wonderful to have my sweet mom on a photoshoot, she's super cool and throws herself into it even if it's not exactly her comfort zone. We laugh and really enjoy the days, which are also fully utilized with a good lunch and a glass of wine, it's very unique to have that experience together as you get a whole day with something we both have a great common interest in, namely clothes and fashion." Tine adds: "It's incredibly rewarding. It gives us a unique opportunity to share experiences and create unforgettable memories together. I'm constantly learning from my daughter and it strengthens our bond through these photo sessions."
Fashion as Personal Expression
For Mille and Tine, fashion is an essential part of their identity and a creative way to express who they are. Mille has been fascinated by clothes and makeup since she was a child, with Barbie dolls and dress-up dolls forming the basis of her early interest. Her style evolved through her teenage years, experimenting with contemporary trends like belly blouses and Buffalo shoes, but always with a touch of retro - maybe red lips, a vintage jacket or jewelry with history. For Mille, fashion is a game where she gets to be creative and put together new styles that express her personal twist on current trends.
For Tine, fashion is a stylish language without words. She sees clothes as an opportunity to show who she is and a way to be creative with colors and textures. Fashion for her is not just about dressing up, but about playing and exploring different sides of herself through her appearance.
Vintage-inspired style as personal expression
Mille and Tine each have their own unique style, but they share a common love of color and expressive details. Mille has always been drawn to the vintage and retro style of classic swing dresses and pantsuits, often combined with hair accessories and jewelry that give her look a personal twist. She describes her style as feminine and timeless, focusing on the outfits she loves rather than following the latest trends. A stylist once called her style "feminine fashion DNA" - a compliment she can only confirm.
Tine prefers trousers and suits without hair accessories, but she shares Mille's love of color and statement earrings. During her school days, she became known for her different style, where her plaid pantsuit with feathers caused a stir. Today, her wardrobe is a mix of color and classic styles, and she loves how Mondo Kaos clothes fit into her personal style and sustainable approach to fashion.
Inspiration for everyday life and creativity
Mille draws inspiration from classic movies and retro icons like Marilyn Monroe, while Tine is inspired by art, the colors and textures of nature, and travel, especially to the South of France, where she enjoys the simple elegance of French fashion. Social media like Instagram and Pinterest also play a role in their styling, and together they build a versatile wardrobe that reflects their personalities and interests.
Favorite styles from Mondo Kaos
If Mille could only choose one piece of clothing from Mondo Kaos for her wardrobe, it would undoubtedly be her beloved jumpsuit from Very Cherry, which she has in several colors and materials. This jumpsuit is a perfect choice for any occasion as Mille feels both chic and comfortable in it. She wears it with boots or sneakers for everyday and heels for special occasions. Mille also loves Emmy Designs knit cardigans and wrap dresses from Seamstress of Bloomsbury, which she describes as perfect for both everyday and special occasions.
Tine's favorite outfits include a combination of high-waisted trousers such as our Billie pants from Daisy Dapper and cardigans from Palava, which she wears both professionally and privately. From the last photoshoot, it was a great pair of high-waisted pants from Weekend Doll that went home to live in Tine's wardrobe. A clear favorite is our reversible Boatneck top from Daisy Dapper - a must-have in Tine's wardrobe. The top is available in many different colors and now also in velvet, making it ideal for winter parties. Tine loves the high quality and comfort that feels like a loving hug on the skin, and this versatile top is a staple in her outfits for both everyday and parties.
Pride in Mondo Kaos' Message and Diversity
As house models for Mondo Kaos, Mille and Tine feel part of something bigger. They appreciate that Mondo Kaos represents women of different ages and shapes, creating a community of diversity and inclusion. For both of them, it's a source of pride to be able to represent a brand that focuses not only on clothing, but also on giving women a voice and a sense of belonging.
Reactions from the outside world
Mille and Tine have both experienced great support from friends, family and colleagues who love following their journey as house models. Mille has had a whole "cheering section" of colleagues who praise her for her natural appearance and ability to bring the clothes to life. Mille describes: "It's been so much fun, especially with colleagues who are so proud and supportive every time I show up on their social media. They sit during our breaks and figure out what to wish for or buy, a lot of the common theme is that they think it's great to see the clothes come to life on real people that they can compare themselves to in height and stature."
Tine says: "It's a girl's dream come true at the age of 60. I pinch myself, but YES it's good enough. My colleagues have also become aware of Mondo Kaos clothes and people around me give huge credit to Mondo Kaos for using ordinary people as models, in all shapes and ages."
