Mischief Made is a retro brand based in LA with a focus on beautiful vintage and tattoo inspired prints, designed by the owner, Yuri himself.
We are the only ones in Denmark to carry Mischief Made's tshirts. We love the cool retro prints and think it suits our Mondo Kaos universe of strong and funny women who like classic vintage and retro style.
Retro prints inspired by the 40s, 50s and 60s.
The woman behind the brand, Yuri, originally comes from Tokyo but in 2011 chose to settle in LA where she started her brand based on the rockabilly style that she had fallen in love with back home in Tokyo. She gets her inspiration for the beautiful prints from midcentury aesthetics, from the 40s, 50s and 60s, such as motorcycles, tattoos, pinups, vinyl records, etc.
She is a trained clothing designer and tailor, and worked in the retro clothing environment before she began to focus on drawings and prints in vintage style.

T-shirts from Mischief Made are a world of fabulous prints, with a focus on the pinup aesthetic, inspired by e.g. tattoos, Halloween and the whole rockabilly environment. They are all both super cool and with a good dose of humor, which makes them extra beautiful and suitable for many beautiful looks.
The beautiful comic style designs are bold and light-hearted retro prints perfect for both a casual everyday look or a full-on 1950s rockabilly look. The prints include everything from Flamingos and beach girls to 'Biker chicks' and 'Jungle queens'. We don't think it's enough to only wear Mischief Made as T-shirts, so we also have the perfect little cheeky cardigan in a cool retro look.
The cardigan has the quick and burlesque designs embroidered on it, so you can wear your Mischief, even in the colder months of the year. It is in a beautiful knit with a hole pattern and ribbed edges and in 100% cotton. The cardigan is of course 'cropped'. so it goes to the waist and goes with your vintage wardrobe.
How do I style my retro style T-shirt.
You can style the beautiful t-shirts with almost anything. If you want a real 50s rockabilly look, you will look great by styling t-shirts with our high-waisted jeans . We have the classic tight jeans as well as the beautiful 'Le Wild' with a straight / wide one, both in both classic lay and black. "Vintage" & "Retro"?
As you may have noticed, we use both the terms 'vintage' and 'retro' for our clothes, but is there really a difference between vintage and retro?
There actually is, but there is no clear definition, so we will try to give ours here.
Vintage refers to clothing produced in approximately the year 1920 and up to 1980 - this can be home-made or in small or large productions. As our dresses were not produced in this time period, we describe our clothes as "vintage inspired", as that is exactly what they are. They are inspired by the fashion of the 1940s , 1950s and 1960s .
The term Retro came into being in the 1960s and refers to something from "back in the day" - and since our selection is precisely inspired by the fashion of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, we also describe our clothes as retro.
Actually, there is the term "Repro", which is probably the term that best describes our range, as repro comes from "reproduced" - i.e. something that has been produced again.
However, we know that not many of our customers use the term Repro, but instead describe our clothes as "Retro" or "Vintage" and therefore we have chosen to do the same.
