The House Of Foxy - Vintage style clothes & dresses

The House of Foxy is a British brand that designs and produces high-quality, vintage-style clothing inspired by the fashion of the classic periods of the twentieth century - the years from 1925 to 1964 - particularly the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. specifically the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.

Behind The House of Foxy is vintage enthusiast Clare Quartermaine from Huddlesfield in Yorkshire. Clare's love affair with vintage started when she was 14 years old and bought her first vintage outfit, and the older she got, the more she fell in love - and her collection of unique vintage dresses and clothes grew steadily! After Clare had children, she found that her body type changed. This meant that she no longer fit into her vintage clothes, which bothered her greatly because, as is the case with vintage items, she didn't have the option to just buy that specific item again in a different size.

Luckily, through her interest in the vintage universe, Clare had gotten to know several local female designers, and over several conversations, Clare realized that they all had the same problem with their vintage dresses and outfits and outfits after having children. These conversations led Clare to found the company that now produces The House of Foxy brand in December 2009. The starting point is a passion of creating flattering, vintage-inspired clothing for every woman of every figure that makes her feel like a goddess!

As well as fit, The House of Foxy also values authenticity in their designs, which is why Clare and her team spend a lot of time researching fashion and how it has evolved over the decades and individual years from waistlines, drape types and sleeve lengths to materials and prints. To ensure both authenticity and quality, Clare personally selects the materials and designs all the clothes herself. She has has even licensed several original prints from the 1930s and 40s, which she found in old design books belonging to the famous antiquarian bookseller Potterton Books, located in the small town of Sessay in North Yorkshire.

Some of Clare's beautiful prints from the aw18 and ss19 collections.

It's also worth mentioning that all clothing from House of Foxy is ethically produced, with the vast majority produced in two small factories in England and Scotland. When you hold one of Clare's products in your hands, you have no doubt that she puts her soul into the brand, which is a great inspiration for us here at Mondo Kaos!

At Mondo Kaos, we have carried House of Foxy since 2014, and we are very proud to be the sole distributor of the brand in Denmark!
