Beautiful shirt in green with short sleeves and round peter pan collar from The Seamstress of Bloomsbury
The shirt is tailored and has a feminine Peter Pan collar. There are small pleats at the shoulders which give a beautiful fall down the bust.
The short sleeves have a little puff in true 1940s style, and are finished with a small cuff edge. The blouse closes at the front with cute heart buttons.
Due to the delicate pleats and the high button closure, we recommend this model for women with smaller breasts, and refer to the Judy model, which is very similar to this one, for women with larger breasts.
It is made in Bloomsbury's signature fabric, rayon crepe de chine, which feels comfortable against the skin and allows it to breathe.

TIP: If you have a larger bust, we recommend you go for the Judy model, which has a little more space above the bust.

Rayon crepe is a natural, lightweight and beautiful material, and we recommend that you care for the garment as they did with original 1940s clothing.
We suggest hand washing, just like they did back then. If you want to use the easier option of using a washing machine, it's very important to wash on a gentle cycle and place the garment in a laundry bag. However, we do not recommend washing in a machine as not all machines treat clothes equally well.
Avoid drying clothes in direct sunlight or in very hot places (e.g. over a radiator) as this can cause the material to expand and subsequently shrink.
If the garment has been washed too hot.
In the unlikely event of an accident, you can try the following method to get the garment back to its original size and fit. This method is not guaranteed, but may help in some cases:
- Soak the garment in cold water with a very generous amount of fabric conditioner and leave it overnight.
- Then rinse the garment in fresh cold water and while gently squeezing out the excess water, stretch the garment both width and lengthwise as far as you can.
- Lay the garment flat on a towel to let it dry slowly and keep pulling it in both directions.
