The Lisa-Mae dress is stylish and elegant while being easy to wear for everyday use.
The eye-catching lapel collar stands out particularly sharply with the help of the underlying collar in off-white contrast. The collar draws focus and frames the neck and face beautifully. The finest pleats at the shoulders provide space for the bust, and a light puff sleeve creates the classic vintage silhouette.
The off-white color from the lapel collar is echoed in the buttonholes, tying the look together while giving the dress a light maritime touch. The buttons down the front of the chest are square in true vintage style with a slight 'deco' touch.
This beautiful 1940s style dress features a belt that highlights the waist. The 3/4 length sleeves make the dress perfect for the many cooler seasons of the year. The fabric is the well-known and beloved bloomsbury 'Crepe de Chine', which falls so beautifully over the figure, giving the dress its vintage look.
The dress closes easily with a zipper on the side.

Rayon crepe is a natural, lightweight and beautiful material, and we recommend that you care for the garment as they did with original 1940s clothing.
We suggest hand washing, just like they did back then. If you want to use the easier option of using a washing machine, it's very important to wash on a gentle cycle and place the garment in a laundry bag. However, we do not recommend washing in a machine as not all machines treat clothes equally well.
Avoid drying clothes in direct sunlight or in very hot places (e.g. over a radiator) as this can cause the material to expand and subsequently shrink.
If the garment has been washed too hot.
In the unlikely event of an accident, you can try the following method to get the garment back to its original size and fit. This method is not guaranteed, but may help in some cases:
- Soak the garment in cold water with a very generous amount of fabric conditioner and leave it overnight.
- Then rinse the garment in fresh cold water and while gently squeezing out the excess water, stretch the garment both width and lengthwise as far as you can.
- Lay the garment flat on a towel to let it dry slowly and keep pulling it in both directions.
