At Mondo Kaos, we also carry a selection of beautiful vintage pants with the classic high-waisted fit.
Although we carry many vintage style dresses and skirts, we also love the great vintage style pants. Vintage pants are perfect for your vintage wardrobe and give you plenty of opportunities to wear some of the beautiful vintage-inspired blouses and shirts we carry in the store. The pants have just the right fit with a high waist and focus on the hourglass silhouette, just like the rest of our vintage range, making it easy to go from dress to pant girl.
The high-waisted trousers are from our wonderful retro brands that are committed to authenticity when it comes to their vintage patterns and designs, so all our vintage trousers have that true vintage look that our customers love.
We always carry a selection of vintage-style palazzo pants and sailor pants. In addition, we always have more feminine models and depending on the season, we have pants such as slacks, shorts or other retro pants and all in authentic and flattering vintage style.
High-waisted wide leg pants from The House of Foxy
The House of Foxy has made it their mission to create the most wonderful designs, as close to the original vintage patterns as possible, while still being practical for modern women. This philosophy also applies to their pants, of course. This might mean adding a bit of stretch to the fabric for greater comfort and durability.
From The House of Foxy, we always carry different models of vintage pants, such as the Swing pants and Sailor pants, and we always have these in several colors.
Swing pants from House of Foxy
Swing trousers are characterized by their beautiful wide legs, inspired by trousers and genuine cut patterns from the late 1930s and 1940s. The trousers are naturally high-waisted and fitted at the waist for full focus on the feminine figure. The pants close with 4 buttons on the side and are made from a lovely viscose stretch blend.
Riviera pants from House of Foxy
A new addition to The House of Foxy are the super flattering Riviera pants. They are inspired by pants from the late 1930s, which started as a bathing and pajama phenomenon and slowly made their way into the wardrobes of the jet set. The trousers have the classic wide legs and are fastened at the side. The front waistband forms a V-shaped waistband that flatters the tummy area. The pants feel super comfortable to wear but are very elegant. Our customers have quickly embraced these pants, which is why we now carry them in more colors.
Sailor pants from The House of Foxy
Sailor pants are familiar from many of the Hollywood stars of the 1940s. Think Marlene Dietrich, for example, who made this style her own! Vintage sailor pants have wide legs like swing pants, but they have two rows of buttons down the front. They are naturally high-waisted and the buttons down the front give even more focus to the narrow waist and endlessly long legs that this silhouette creates.
In addition to these models that we have permanently in our assortment, you can always stop by the store or our webshop, where we often have other pants suitable for the season. For example, we often have great vintage style pants with wool for fall and winter, and we often have cigarette pants/slacks in the classic 50s style. You can also always find the classic vintage style pantsuits in the store. And of course, we also have the flattering shorts.
How do I style my high-waisted pants?
You can definitely play around with the style and go all-in on the sailor look by sticking to navy, white and red, or wear them with a beautiful tie blouse. You can also opt for a boatneck top and just hint at the maritime connection.
The Riviera pants, which have a simple line, can be styled with a more variegated or detailed top, such as a 50s ruffle top, or you can focus on the 30s look with the peasant blouse with embroidery.
The swing pants are a real vintage all-rounder. You can easily style these with a beautiful tie bow blouse, a classic shirt or if you want to be a little cool; one of the great retro print T-shirts.
If you're generally into simple vintage looks, you can vary with colors. Choose your favorite vintage pants in multiple colors and wear them with simple 40s style shirts and blouses.
Vintage clothing, retro clothing or repro clothing?
As most of our customers already know, our clothing is not "true vintage". This means that they are not secondhand clothes made in the middle of the last century, but reproduced (repro) clothes that are inspired, with great attention to detail, by vintage clothes, prints and patterns. However, we have found that the vast majority of our customers are not familiar with the term "repro", but use both retro and vintage to describe the clothes we sell, despite the fact that they are newly produced. That's why we do exactly the same here at Mondo Kaos. All our clothes are always newly produced, not second-hand, and are primarily inspired by the wonderful, feminine fashion of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.
