1940s Wrap dress
mustard
Beautiful wrap dress in mustard in authentic vintage style from The Seamstress of Bloomsbury.
The beautiful wrap dress from The Seamstress of Bloomsbury is perfect all year round.
The cut of the dress gives room to the bust and emphasizes the waist, and the fine lapel collar frames the neck and face in the most beautiful way.
The wrap dress is cut at the waist and has short sleeves, so that it can be easily worn all year round. The beautiful slåom dress closes easily with the adjustable tie belt. The delicious material gives the dress a beautiful fall, and a very authentic vintage look!
The material is The Seamsetress of Bloomsbury's signature fabric, a natural material that feels soft and lets the skin breathe!
- Suitable for all occasions: "dress it up" with a pair of vintage pumps and red lipstick and "dress it down" with a pair of flat shoes and neutral makeup!
- Wear the wrap dress in winter with thick stockings and a cardigan over it, and in summer with bare legs and sandals.
- It's also the perfect wrap dress for summer beach trips, as it's easy to put on and take off and the fabric dries quickly! And it doesn't take up much space in the bag.
Tip: When you try this you must 1. Pull one side 'fixed' across the chest when closed. 2. Tie the ribbon around the waist twice, then tie a bow at the side. As a result, the collar sits nicely and the dress does not open.
100% rayon crepe. No stretch.
Rayon crepe is a natural, lightweight and beautiful material, and we recommend that you care for the garment as they did with original 1940s clothing.
We suggest hand washing, just like they did back then. If you want to use the easier option of using a washing machine, it's very important to wash on a gentle cycle and place the garment in a laundry bag. However, we do not recommend washing in a machine as not all machines treat clothes equally well.
Avoid drying clothes in direct sunlight or in very hot places (e.g. over a radiator) as this can cause the material to expand and subsequently shrink.
If the garment has been washed too hot.
In the unlikely event of an accident, you can try the following method to get the garment back to its original size and fit. This method is not guaranteed, but may help in some cases:
- Soak the garment in cold water with a very generous amount of fabric conditioner and leave it overnight.
- Then rinse the garment in fresh cold water and while gently squeezing out the excess water, stretch the garment both width and lengthwise as far as you can.
- Lay the garment flat on a towel to let it dry slowly and keep pulling it in both directions.

Are you unsure about size, body shape, or how to style the dress? Here, we have gathered the most important answers about fit, silhouette, and vintage-inspired dresses, so you can more easily find the dress that suits you best.
A vintage dress is originally a dress from a previous period, often characterized by period-specific cuts, materials, and details. At Mondo Kaos, you will primarily find vintage-inspired dresses, where the expression is inspired by past decades, but the fit, comfort, and materials are designed for modern use. "Vintage" is often used for clothing that is not new and is a good example of a style from the past. All our vintage dresses are newly produced.
Our vintage dress is particularly well-suited for those who desire a feminine silhouette with a focus on fit, waist, and drape. Depending on the cut, the dress can be especially good for hourglass / X-figure, pear / A-figure, rectangle / H-figure, apple / O-figure, or inverted triangle / V-figure.
Yes, many vintage-inspired dresses can be styled for both everyday wear and special occasions. Wear the dress with a cardigan, tights, and flat shoes for everyday use, or style it with heels, jewelry, and vintage-inspired makeup for parties, weddings, or special occasions.
At Mondo Kaos, you'll primarily find vintage-inspired dresses. This means the dresses have a retro look inspired by past decades, but are created with modern comfort, fit, and materials, so they can be worn every day.
Our dresses may be inspired by, for example, the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, or 1960s. This can be seen in details such as silhouette, waist, neckline, skirt shape, print, length, or feminine vintage details.
Use the size guide on the product page and compare your measurements with the dress's measurements. If you are between two sizes, you can often choose the smaller size for a more fitted look or the larger size for a more relaxed drape. If you are unsure about cuts and body shapes, you can also take our silhouette quiz.
